Apple Has Paused Entire Product Line in Russia

Apple has joined the ever growing list of companies banning their usage in Russia amidst rising tensions in Ukraine and, to put it plainly, the outbreak of war. Apple decided to pause their sale of its entire product line up in Russia with immediate effect, Bloomberg reports (including apple pay, along with RT News and Sputnik News apps). Now if someone within the Russian territory attempts to purchase something from their online store they are greeted with a “Delivery Unavailable” message.

Apple proceeded to confirm the statement and added that it has already paused exports to Russia as of last week, and as a precautionary measure disabled live traffic data and live incidents in Ukraine. Resellers in Russia in stores are uncertain whether it will affect them but what is certain is that their restock will be underwhelming if not entirely empty in the weeks to come.

This newly announced pause in production comes after Ukrainian vice prime minister Mykhailo Federov wrote to Apple CEO Tim Cook requesting him to stop device sales in the country. However, Russia is a significant market for Apple so this effect on product may not last.
