Anonymous Releases 360,000 documents proving that Russia is censoring the Ukrainian narrative.
Ukrainian Anonymous hacker group has hacked into Roskomnadzore, the Russian federal agency responsible for monitoring and censuring media, releasing 360,000 files on Twitter on Thursday. According to Ariella Marsden of the Jerusalem Post. The articles illustrate that Moscow has censored anything that referred to the was as a Russian invasion of Ukraine. Roskomnadzor blocked Russian use of Facebook after it flagged Russian articles as factually inaccurate. They are also threatening to block Russian Wikipedia for including an article on the Russian invasion.
Following this a phew days ago Anonymous hacked several Russian broadcasts and stated that normal Russians don’t support the war. But this cyberwar started much earlier since February 24th when the invasion began. They also opened a website where users could send emails to random Russians whose email addresses were stored in the database they hacked, encouraging users to “spread the truth about war in Ukraine”.
On Wednesday, Anonymous denied a report that its website was hacked by pro-Russian hackers.
